Take a look at the 5 HP experience!

Our 5 hp solar water pumps are ideal for irrigation, home or business water needs, and livestock hydration. They offer power and capability. Additionally, they use solar energy, which means they are cost-effective and environmentally friendly. If you need a reliable water pump, consider our collection.

Put the sun to work like never before.

these pump curves shows how our 5 hp solar pumps performs at different flow rates. It shows the relationship between flow rate and the pump’s head (pressure) and power. To read a pump curve:

  1. Find the total head lift of the pump on the curve (on the y-axis), this is the pressure the pump is currently working at.
  2. Look at the flow rate (on the x-axis). This is the amount of fluid the pump is moving.
  3. Find an intersection between the x and y axis which will correlate with a pump curve. This curve will illustrate which pump is correct for your project.

High power conversion kits are available

Many people struggle with high electricity costs and power outages that prevent their well pump from working. Our conversion kit offers a solution. By following a few simple steps, you can convert your 5 hp well pump from grid power to solar power.

Our kit includes everything you need for the switch, like high-quality solar panels, a system controller, and all necessary wiring and hardware. The installation process is easy and most DIY enthusiasts with basic electrical knowledge can complete it.

Switching to solar power not only saves you money on energy bills, but it is also more sustainable and environmentally-friendly. Find about more about conversion options

The 5 HP submersible well pump in action!

Jim is an innovative and ambitious farmer who was determined to find a sustainable solution for watering his bamboo crop. After researching various options, he decided to install a solar-powered submersible water pump to draw water from a nearby shallow creek.
To ensure the pump was protected and could operate efficiently, Dan designed and built a custom PVC casing with filters to house the 6″ submersible pump. He also incorporated sand media filters, which are fancy gravel and sand-filled tanks that filter the water before it is sent through the irrigation sprinklers.

The pump is capable of moving water at a rate of 60-120 gallons per minute (GPM) depending on the pressure he selects for the sprinklers. To transport the water from the creek to the sprinklers, Dan installed a system of 2″ pipes that run uphill for a distance of 1000 feet. He also has a number of 3/4″ pipes for the impact sprinklers that require a flow rate of 5-7 GPM and a pressure of 30-60 PSI. To optimize the irrigation system, Dan plans to use valves and timers to control the flow of water to different zones. He is currently using a lot of 2″ PVC pipes, but is considering other options as well.

Solar Panel set up
Solar panels for 5 hp solar water pump

One of the challenges Dan faced with this project was finding the best location for the solar panels. He ultimately decided on a south-facing hill that had consistent solar exposure, even though the wiring cost was high. To minimize voltage drop over the long distance, Dan worked with a specialist named Mike to calculate the necessary wire gauge, which they determined should be 8 gauge to achieve reasonably manageable loss.
Overall, Dan’s solar-powered water pump has been a success, enabling him to sustainably water his bamboo crop and reduce his reliance on traditional energy sources.
