BEST IRRIGATION TIMERS FOR SOLAR WELL PUMPS
When your homestead or ranch needs to schedule waterings according to certain hours or days of the week, you’ll need to utilize an irrigation timer. Irrigation timers range from very simple to more complex. A more advanced timer can be programmed to turn the pump on, for example, Tuesday and Thursdays between 11 AM to 1 PM, allow for multiple on/off cycles throughout the day, skip watering days, or even cancel watering if the timer senses rain. A PEEK BEHIND THE CURTAIN
The BEES are here! This spring here at RPS, we’ve been working on prepping our garden for planting and have added these Italian Honeybees to our property as pollinators. We’ve seen that the queen has been broken out of her travel container by the worker bees and the hive should be getting settled in over the next few weeks. We’re hoping for a great season of growth!

Limit and reduce the nutrients in the water that can cause unwanted algae growth. Avoid grass clippings, leaves, fertilizer and other nutrient loaded organic debris from getting into your pond.
Plant aquatic greenery native to your area. The more plants you have taking nutrients from the water, the less there is available to algae.
Stock fish that feed on mosquito larvae in your pond or lake.
Juvenile Bass, Bluegill, Catfish, Panfish, Minnows, and Mosquito fish will naturally feed on the mosquito larvae cutting down on adult mosquitos.
Overall, creating an oxygen-rich, body of water where the surface of the water is moving is the best way to combat both mosquito infestation and algae growth. It also creates a great environment for fish and other wildlife.

Unlike other well seals that rust within 10-20 years and can cause damage to your well system, you won’t have to worry about the costly and dangerous process of removing part of your well casing just to replace a rusted-out seal.

RECIPES FROM OUR GARDEN
Step 1
Prepare grill for medium-high heat. Season steaks generously with salt and pepper. Grill, turning several times, until lightly charred, 7–9 minutes for medium-rare. Transfer to a cutting board; let rest at least 15 minutes before thinly slicing.
Step 2
Toss arugula, onion, chili, parmesan, and parsley in a medium bowl. Drizzle with lemon juice and oil and toss to coat; season with salt and pepper. Drizzle steak with oil and season with salt and pepper; serve with salad.
